I could not resist smiling from ear-to-ear as I shopped the shoe departments this weekend! Studs and spikes make a punchy presence and fiery colors make a fresh fall statement. The combination of hardware and hot hues will keep the weather warm! Below are my top picks I had to share....

Could green ever be so hot? Perhaps that's why this Gianni Bini pump is dubbed "Jade." This unpredictable color for fall is fresh and fun! More colors available.

Sam Edelman raises Christian Louboutin a pair of spiked stiletto's with these Lorissa pumps. Now men, these aren't just stylish, they're also sharp and can certainly second as a weapon for any lady whose wearing them. Safety tip:: be sure to keep a polite distance! Oh, did I mention crystals are sprinkled within the spikes? Sexy....

A virtual view of these pumps does them no justice. Jessica Simpson's sexy Waleo style has hit the stores in a neon cobalt blue. This striking color immediately grabs your attention as you pervade the shoe section!

Sam Edelman trades in his sharp spikes for sleek studs in this "York" platform. A vibrant violet makes a bright, bold statement.

Stella Styles on The Bachelor Pad

If you tuned into the premier of ABC's The Bachelor Pad on Monday night then you cashed in on a first class ticket to sexy scandal, scheming and....Stella! The show might be a compound of love and lies but at least the bachelorettes know how to play charades in style...

Nikki was fuming when old flame Juan walked through the doors of The Bachelor Pad. But, with a Stella statement like the Garden Party Necklace (which she paired with a basic white tank), Nikki will be sure to cast a catch from the other bachelors!

Watches are becoming the show stopper, especially in retail stores where they seem to be catching everybody's eye! There are lots of hot looks this season: resin and rubber materials, white and clear bands that are versatile with lots of looks or even vibrant statement colors for a screaming pop!

Fossil's Stella watch is crystal clear in color and, with a splash of glitz, it's classy and casual. Also available with a fresh color on its face.

Ceramic and resin watches are hot hot HOT this season! White is the top 'must-have' color like this DKNY style or you can opt for a more colorful clock like Marc Jacob's two-tone ticker which is available in several contrasting color combo's.

Rubber was never so comfortable and trendy! Watches with rubber bands are popping up everywhere! Sandra Bullock made the look famous in her movie The Blind Side where she wore a white style throughout the entire film. The look is sophisticated and you would never know it was a silicone style unless you touched it!

If Parisian, Brigitte Bardot, can wear a gingham wedding dress to marry her love, then we can make the translation that this look is flexible and easy to pull off! Gingham is making its "what's old is new again" cycle with a rainbow of versatile looks.

Just because it's in your babies nursery or on your relatives cottage kitchen curtains, doesn't mean you can't fashion a skirt, a dress, shoes or even a swimsuit. Gingham is humble, classic and most of all, it stands on its own for the best in simplicity!

Go casual with drawstring shorts or a western-style gingham shirt from Gap.

Go flirty in gingham with this Betsy Johnson dress where she pairs florals to make the print more playful.

The Anthropologie Checks and Balances blazer is exactly that. A combination of different sized gingham checks are well balanced with this statement piece. Make sure that it's companions are simple: solid bottoms, simple jewelry, sleek flats or stiletto's.

This flowy skirt from TopShop reminds me of throwback summer style at its finest. A solid tee or tank, flats and gilda hoops will add the perfect touch.

Satchels and shoes are a great way to throw in the print for a touch of its style. The Nine West Satchel and the Cynthia Rowley for Roxy wedges should be worn a-la-carte. In this case, less is more so be sure not to overdo the look (it'll make you look...cheap!)

Of course, I couldn't forget swimwear! Especially with a suit this cute! Patty Cakes by Betsy Johnson has adorable keyhole cutouts at the halter neckline which add great detail to this retro beach look!

Pack up your peacoats, if you haven't already, because your warm winter cover-ups need to hibernate! Now that spring is here and summer is near, mix in a season appropriate style for the days you need to layer up. Since the weather patterns these days are merely unpredictable, it's a good idea to keep a few looks wardrobe ready!

Zara has a great selection of spring raincoats including the one above which has a trench-like look to it, minus the belt. It's modern v-shaped style is paired with button detailing and epaulets for a streamlined look.

Spring has barely been here and we have already covered 5 different shoe trends for the season: Nude, Caged, Cuffed, Studded and Ghillie Tie. Now, another week, another trend : Stone-Embellished. Take this look hand-in-hand with springs Tribal Trend that I highlighted a few weeks back and make a 360 statement.

Nine West style 'Livlovlif" Sandal is embellished with turquoise and red stones with metal studded tribal enhancements.

The 'Earth' Wedge style by Castillo is a great statement sandal. The chunky stones make the thong of this style pop with fresh color.

'Trezure' by Steve Madden is full of texture! Snake-embossed leather material stretched over the stacked platform heel and decorated with stones and studs.

The Vince Camuto Emily Platform style demonstrates a more neutral stone vibe. The earthtone hues make this shoe more versatile while mixing in other shoe trends :: caged and cuffed.

BCBG does rhineSTONES. This flat is nude, monochromatic and simple. Yes, simple. Even with the stone embellishment, it's not over done and it's a great way to add a a little sass to a basic ensemble.

Men's Fashion Friday : White Wash Denim

White wash jeans are a great way to mix in a different look while still maintaining a casual style. Keep in mind, even though they are white wash "jeans" they aren't everyday "jeans" so don't over do it in the "wearing department."

The plus side: white jeans are just like denim washed jeans -- they are versatile and can be worn with virtually anything. Not to mention, they are easier to pass off as more formal in the event you need to step up the look a bit! An important note to keep in mind: white jeans have a set season which extends from Memorial Day to Labor Day unless there is a time where an exception to the rule is made on the runways. Other than that, stick to the dates and look forward to pulling out those white jeans every summer!

MEK Denim Boot Cut in NY White Wash. Crisp, true white and classic MEK embroidery on the back pockets.

True Religion Body Rinse White Wash. Take your basic "True's" and mix in a new look!

True Religion Graphite White Wash in their Ricky Big T style. If you don't want to go completely stark white, then the graphite tint in this pair is perfect. It almost appears as slightly antiqued but makes a great statement!

Levi's 501 Relaxed White Wash. Great buy if you don't want to spend the bigger bucks.

7 For All Mankind has a dirted white wash which makes the look distressed and tonal.

Spring Shoe Trend : Ghillie Tie

Spring has barely been here and we have already covered 4 different shoe trends for the season: Nude, Caged, Cuffed and Studded. Now, another week, another trend : Ghillie Tie.

So... you've never heard of it?? A ghillie tie is a shoe that is tongueless, exposing the top of the foot, and has loops in place of eyelets. My bet is you've seen it, you just never knew the name! Reaquaint yourself visually by reviewing some styles below. Then, catapult yourself into your personal ghillie tie look!

Chinese Laundry's Lucky Strike comes in three colors and is great for a "spring bootie" look.

"Cabo" by Dolce Vita is straight sexy! The tongueless center is thin and merely invisible when the laces are tightened which makes the look appear more caged than ghilllie tied!

The selection of trends this spring for shoes is like an endless candy buffet! We have gone through the line-up: Nude, Cuffed, Caged and now..Studs! Yes, the studs continue into spring and are making a remarkable impression! With so many trends, there are so many great ways to play up each look and even incorporate multiple trends into a solo shoe!

What a fabulous combo of all things spring trend! We have cuffed, caged, studs and tribe-vibe! The Nine West Imeila Sandal has it all packed into one hot style!

I always feature a splurge style and this Ash 'Lovely' Wedge is definitely my studded splurge for spring! Suede straps marry well with the leather wrapped wedge and antiqued brass hardware.

No matter what goes on in her social life, her stylish life seems to be boding well! Jessica Simpson's Ninja Wedge Sandals has a slightly stacked wedge with criss-cross detailing and antiqued hardware... the perfect boho chic look!

Michael makes my list again! The Astor sandal is both sporty and casual. The leather and suede combo gives a retro matte and shine look atop a stacked wooden platform. Then, it's deliberately finished with the perfect touch of studs outlining the visible threading.

Marc Fisher's Hooray Peep Toe-Pumps add a fresh approach to the classic black leather peep-toe with a sprinkling of gunmetal studs.

Steve Madden also does a twist to a classic look by adding studs around the platform and on the heel of this Tobbi Pump.

My choice for studded flat: Boutique 9 Glory Sandals. The studded applique is youthful, yet sophisticated and really pops against the sueded background.

If a style has a great look and a faulty buckle, the entire style can be a flop. However, a simple belt and a bangin' buckle makes a grand statement! Here are some of my top picks of the season.

For a rustic, casual look, my pick is the interchangeable BKE Distressed Belt. The geometric shape of the metal buckle closure makes a masculine statement. I also love the option to swap out the belt and keep the same buckle! The antique silver buckle makes it versatile with a variety of other belt options from casual to formal.

The Plaque-Buckle belt from Banana Republic is a great casual look.The way the buckle camouflages with the belt presents an infinity-like design.

A great, versatile belt is a fabulous investment piece. My favorite this season is Salvatore Ferragamo's Reversible Belt. This style is sleek, classic and timelessly trendy. You have the option to flip the leather look from brown to black with the same sophisticated, brass-plated gunmetal closure. Great for work or formal attire.

The Fossil Gavin Belt has simple casual character. The finishing of the leather gives the look a rich accent and pairs well with the modified rectangular buckle with an antique finish.

Shoe Trend :: Caged

I have covered shoes in the nude, cuffed shoes, and now, another hot trend to choose from: Caged. In the "shoe world", being caged-in is done with sexy straps and edgy interpretations. Here are some of my top caged-picks.

Cuffed and caged. I love the N.Y.L.A Bande Caged Sandal. I love the sandal, slip-in look from the back, the subtle peep toe in front, the sexy skin exposure with both chunky and slim slits, and the ankle cuff closure. Edgy, sexy, statement.

You can't go wrong with Michael Kors! His shoes have a glove-like fit that make you feel secure and confident. I adore the Juniper Platform Sandal in 'Pumice' and absolutely find a need for this in my spring/summer wardrobe! The canvas color is both versatile and classy and will go with anything in your closet. The braiding at the toe is nautical and balances well with the matte leather strap detailing up the front of the foot. It's also available in 'teak' (cognac) and black, however, the Pumice will stretch your buck!

Michael Antonio's Galian style reminds me of a casual spring day. It's available in three colors :: black, tan and green. I love the criss-cross caged detailing, the adjustable buckle closure and of course, the stacked platform wedge.

If you're a girl who likes a good flat, my choice is the Sam Edelman 'Hazel' style. It has an organic sense to it with twig-like straps that connect to slate colored stone embellishments. Not-to-mention, it exudes a subtle tribal/bohemian vibe if you are planning on incorporating the tribal trend this season.

My favorite cocktail style is Calvin Klein's Dylan Platform. It's sleek, slender, skinny and sexy. Wear this on your first date and you'll be sure to land a second!

How much fun! Naughty Monkey always has a sense of uber trendy styles and this one speaks to their heritage. The two-toned Parade Sandal is playful and flirty. Available in white (as shown) and black, both with tan straps. Comments and compliments included!

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target

Leading couture designers continue to trinkle their way down into quick-fashion ready-to-wear houses by offering more economical and affordable lines for the average consumer. Roberto Cavalli and Jimmy Choo designed lines for H&M, and Zac Posen is nearing his launch of affordable sportswear under the name Z Spoke.

Target's, 'Target Boutique' famously does the same. We have seen fashion flashes at Target from Isaac Mizrahi, Stephen Sprouse (popular for making Louis Vuitton's graffiti prints famous), Mossimo Giannulli, and Cynthia Rowley. Now, French Haute Couture designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, joins the list of icons this season with his interpretation of wallet-friendly fashion.

Looks include belted trenches, leather moto jackets, swimwear, printed dresses.

Lee Alexander McQueen :: An Eerie, Angelic Departure

Before he took his own life at just 40-years-young, British designer, Alexander McQueen, was a four-time recipient of the Fashion Designer of the Year Award. His haute couture creations littered the runways and permeated the Red Carpet as he became a world-wide phenomenon and an applauded name in the fashion world.

His death was announced just one month before the highly anticipated Paris Fashion Week. The news not only stunned the world, but it shocked the fashion industry to a raw, lifeless core as the busiest time of the year came to a jolting halt to briefly mourn the unexpected death of a legendary icon.

McQueen's final collection was revealed on Tuesday at Paris Fashion Week. The runway show was cancelled by the Gucci Company, and instead, an intimate group of respected professionals were invited to a private viewing. The mood was somber, as sorrow draped the crowd. Silence was shrouded with drops of tears while a salon of his last 16 masterpieces stand on display, each look hand-cut and hand draped onto dress forms by the late designer in the final weeks of his life. The models stood like statues, as lifeless as the mood.

The artistry and symbolism in McQueen's last collection was almost as though it was deliberately designed to depict the transition from life to death. Religious aspects were incorporated into the fabrics including metallic brocades and prints with angels, angel wings, virgins, and doves. McQueen hand-sculpted angelic faces into the the heels of the shoes, while other details included organ pleats and elaborate gold embellishments which appeared to denote elements found in a church. His color choices included vast amounts of reds, golds and whites portraying a deeper voice of suggestive symbolism.

The collection, one could say, was revealed in progressive stages of transitioning to the afterlife as we see still-shots of angels, symbols of white doves perched on shoulders, and angel wings expanding from shoulder to shoulder. Then finally, the last look he would ever create is perhaps the most haunting. A body-hugging bodice covered in gold, gilded feathers that exposed a white tulle skirt with sprinkles of gold. Perhaps a depiction of a gold-feathered dove once trapped, now escaping, flying away to its afterlife...

Eerie? Yes. Spooky? Woman's Wear Daily would agree.The collection was certainly comprised of haunting expositions. Was McQueen incorporating visions of death into his designs? Was this all a plan? Did McQueen spend his final days designing a runway show of his funeral to freedom? We will never know. For me, the most empty question is how could this icon be living in such a deep and painful darkness, yet somehow manage to create the most beautiful collection we have ever seen him produce?

May McQueen Rest in Peace as his legend lives on.

The selection of shoe styles to choose from this season is oh-so-appetizing. As promised, another week, another spring shoe trend! Last weeks trend highlight :: nude shoes. This week :: cuffed!

I love the Tulua wedge by DV by Dolce Vita. This single style incorporates so many trendy details for spring :: stacked wedge, cuffed ankle, nude in color and back zipper to name a few. Then, DV sassed it up with a double-laced feature and revealing geometric cutouts.

In one word: intriguing. It's one thing to have adjustable buckles on a shoe, but it's completely clever to have your buckle look like an actual belt. The N.Y.L.A Pura sandal executed the buckle wrap as if it was actually your genius that decided to wrap your belt around your shoe. The color blocking adds additional dimension for exceptional foot flare.

Jessica Simpson's Adreana platform sandal has a stacked-cuff design. The look is secure with adjustable buckles and a zipper closure to support the double cuffed ankle straps.

The Carson style by Michael Kors is incredibly sexy and svelt. Suede fabric stretches from the toe buckle to the cuff buckle for a classy look. The mixture of matte and shine adds a sophisticated level of texture. The shoe is almost like a tease -- from behind it looks like a strappy and skin-exposed fashion statement, until the front is revealed with classy, yet enticing, coverage.

Consider the 'cuffed pump' your springtime boot. The Misty style by Dolce Vita wraps your ankles and kisses your toes with a luscious leather. The cuff is made functional with a zipper closure as an easy off/on mechanism.

Stella Sightings: Another Round of Press & Celebs

The March issue of Woman's Day Magazine featured the Uma Silk Wrap Necklace. A string of beads are covered in silk that is dipped in gradient hues of pink. Wear it long or doubled over for a layered look or even add the Uma Flower Brooch like our model above for a flirtier vibe.

Men's Fashion Friday: Shoe Guide

Let's just streamline the simplicity here. There are four kinds of shoes every guy needs to have in his closet.

Dress. Boot. Casual. Sneaker.

The dress shoe should be a staple for the working guy, but if you're in a more laid-back office environment, make sure to have them on hand for more formal events such as weddings and decorous outings. It is essential to have both a black and a brown pair handy to play with both sides of your wardrobe. Oh and as a fashion side note, don't fret about what to wear with navy because, on the contrary to fashion myths, navy suits can be worn with black shoes!

Boots can bridge the gap if you work them right. They can add a rugged look to a working ensemble, or you can reserve them strictly for outdoor activities. Just remember that weekend boots are different from workday boots so don't try pairing your suit with your muddy carpenter lace-ups.

Most guys have casual shoes. In fact, the majority of men probably only have casual shoes. These are the "default" shoe, the everyday, go-to shoe. Black and brown, of course, are always staple basics. If you find yourself daunting the same casual look, mix in a navy, one with a suede finish, or a seasonal white.

Sneakers. What I mean by sneakers are not gym-shoes. Gym kicks are athletic sneakers. The style I am referring to is, more-or-less, the Converse look or casual kick. When you feel your casual shoes are still too "formal" pull out the sneaker for an everyday, laid back look.

Trend :: Tribal Tribute

The Tribal Trend is back with a full throttle revamp for Spring 2010! Think multi-colored, multi-faceted and...a trip to Africa. Tribal is your opportunity to be vibrant without being predictable. Here is your chance to pull out your ikats, batiks and treasures you have collected during your travels and sass them up for one of this seasons hottest looks.

Update any boho chic style with a twist of tribal by pairing it with statement jewelry, scarves and shoes. Or take the trend by it's horns and convert your look from head-to-toe. Jungle prints will mingle with slashed up, asymmetrical and rugged tribal impressions, while ethnic mosaics will be drenched with unexpected color combinations. Givenchy's Spring 2010 (left) tribute to streamlined tribal was immaculate. This zebra-esque print is splashed onto rich silk for an intense impression. From one end of the tribal interpretation to the extreme opposite is celebrity, Kayley Cuoco (right). She taunts her tribe in a colorful maxi-dress that is printed in a vibrant asymmetrical mosaic pattern.

Stella & Dot's Cortez Cuff has a larger medallion design made of turquoise, glass and wooden beads. The espresso leather base makes the colors pop with drama. Finally, the handmade cuff is finished with a two-snap button closure for a secure fit.

If you want just a touch of the trend try the Tribal Dance Scarf at Nordstrom. Innate artwork pops with hues of blue, coral and canary yellow's for a fresh take on inspirational pieces.

The Tribal Rhythm Tank at Anthropologie has a boho-chic vibe to it. Ethnic artwork is patched onto a cotton and silk blended tank in a sporadic fashion.

The Native Habit Skirt from Forever21 is a great piece to jazz up! Hide the elastic waistband under a chunky belt . Then, skew from the basic white tank by mixing in a dustier blue top for the hot "blue on blue" trend. When going tribal you can mix in mismatched colors for a kaleidoscopic and loud look!

Finish your look at your feet with the REPORT Redding sandal at Nordstrom. The medallion embellishment is dressed with earthtone and energetic colored beads for a distinctive look.

Shoes in the Nude

There are several super trendy and must-have looks in shoes for Spring. Don't worry, I will cover all the top-notchers! This week:: Nude Shoes.

Invest in a nude shoe whether its a stiletto, wedge, pump or flat. Nudes go with virtually everything and can be easily transformed from day to night. Keep in mind nudes come in several hues, including shades with hints of pink or ivory, so pick one that compliments your complexion. Doing so can even elongate your legs.

Purchasing a nude patent pump would be considered a great investment in the fashion world! Being able to sport a shoe from January to December is definitely a perk, and by buying into a nude patent, you will be doing just that! This BCBG style is my pick for a multi-season splurge.

Jessica Simpson's Astor style is a stylish platform slingback that works great as a day-to-night transitional shoe. Her nude color has been named Cognac Patent and has a wonderfully warm hue to it.

I love the flirty frill of this RSVP style. A roughed up flower kisses the side of each heel for a high fashion statement. This nude has a hint of pink mixed in which is great if you have a blushy complexion.

The talk of the town is Jimmy Choo's 24:7 Collection. Featured here is JC's Private style which is perfectly patent and painted in a universal shade of nude.

If you're one to fashion flats, more specifically the gladiator trend, then J. Crew's Cyprus Vachetta sandal comes in a soft graphite nude for a trendy and versatile look.

Oceans of Blue

Turquoise is the season of the color. However, keep in mind the turquoise family also expands into the blues. The blue trend is leaking hues from bright cobalt's and southwestern turquoise's to indigo navy's and baby pastels. The different shades aren't shy so, mock the marbled blues you see in an oceans tints by mixing different hues to make bold blue statements.

BCBG did a great job incorporating a monochromatic mixture of blues with this Printed Draped Tank. The entire look reminds me of ocean waves with its gradient colors and movement in its fishtail hemline.

Stella & Dot's Cortez Turquoise & Suede Necklace is a great narration of statement! A radiant shade of turquoise from the tropical sea colors stones that dangle on an espresso waxed cord. The look is finished with wooden rings and a chocolate sueded tie closure.

Dip your feet into cobalt blue with Steve Madden's 'Loyyall' platform pump. Use this shoe as the statement to your outfit and really make it pop by wearing it with a black cocktail dress so all the attention goes to your toes! Then, finish accessorizing with the same cobalt hue.

The dark ink navy paired with a croc-embossed design on this Gianni Bini Gretchen Satchel is contemporary and sophisticated. The deep indigo color makes this handbag versatile.

The softer, more muted side of blues are great to use as neutrals to pair with bolder blues! Forever21's Modern Slip Dress would look fabulous finished with ink navy shoes and handbag. Or, if there is a chill in the air, cover up with a dark navy cardigan. Keep in mind, just because the lace is black, doesn't mean to accessorize with black. This is your chance to add depth of color and really play into the mismatching fun of the blue trend.

Karl Lagerfeld's "Clog Rehab"

Clogs made their first appearance when beauty and fashion wasn't even a prerequisite to stepping out in public. They were simply built to lift British pauper's from the rocky surfaces beneath their calloused feet. As time passed, clogs advanced to serve as protective platforms in hobbies and industries for gardeners, dancers, orthopedics and factory workers. Then, more famously, clogs became Holland's staple and, to this day, they are still desired by the duchess, however, they continue to lack merit for fashion front-runners.

Clogs are perceived to be as unattractive as their name and never make the "must-have" list of shoe-collectors. However, we all know how popular Uggs became despite their disparaging absence of aesthetics. So, in an Ugg-like event, perhaps there is a chance for Revival of the Clog.

Chanel's' Carl Lagerfeld is one fashion designer who dismisses clog critics of the past. His Spring 2010 runway show was a naughty interpretation of 'country coquettes' emerging from haystack mayhem. Each model entered with a stagger in her step as though she tousled some trouble in the barn. (more below)

The infamous Chanel suit was regurgitated into skirts with thigh-high slits and mini's that might-as-well be missing, while thoughtfully paired with rustic tweeds, transparent fabrics and blouses with frothy and agitated textures. Then, each look was meticulously finished at the feet with chunky wooden clogs adorned with studs, flowers, and suede. Mediocrity? I think not.

Nothing Lagerfeld does is without pensive thought. Each detail is conceived with crafted perfection and every show is a masterful interpretation of an idea that started off as a blueprint from his imagination. His Spring 2010 show in its entirety might be perceived as a modge-podge of manic fashion, but the show was truly a balanced rendition of time-honored classicism and modern appeal, including the risk of properly executed clogs!

So, as his muse exits the runway, you can be the judge of whether or not clogs should only be reserved for those in certain professions. Or, you can trust that if these shoes are good enough for Karl in a way that he can make a controversial collection in itself look cohesive, then you can guarantee that quick-fashion houses will follow his lead. As a consumer critic, I anticipate his looks on the runway will look just as fabulous in my closet!
